DT SWISS ACQUIRES FULL OWNERSHIP OF BRAKE EXPERT TRICKSTUFF – AQUIN ACTED AS SOLE ADVISOR TO THE SHAREHOLDER OF TRICKSTUFF
DT SWISS AG ACQUIRES FULL OWNERSHIP OF TRICKSTUFF TO REINFORCE INNOVATIVE STRENGTH AND FURTHER COMPLEMENT THE PRODUCT PORTFOLIO WITH A DEVELOPMENT SITE IN GERMANY.
With effect from January 1st 2022, DT Swiss AG, based in Biel, Switzerland, will acquire the German company Trickstuff GmbH, based in Pfaffenweiler close to Freiburg. With absolute high-end performance products, especially in the field of brakes, the Black Forest manufacturer has made a name for itself over the last two decades. The driving force behind Trickstuff’s success was the former owner and industrial engineer Klaus Liedler, who will continue in the role of managing director after the acquisition.
„With the purchase of Trickstuff GmbH, we want to keep pace with the ever-faster development in our industry and establish a development site with great relevance for cycling,“ noted Frank Böckmann CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of DT Swiss Group. „With a highly innovative team that can be characterized has highly motivated, fully committed and paired with a down-to-earth mentality Trickstuff has built an excellent reputation among ambitious cyclists for their unique products. In addition, the company is located in one of the most popular mountain bike and racing bike areas in Germany. Over the years, I have cultivated a trusting exchange with Klaus Liedler, learned to appreciate him as an a creative and sympathetic discussion partner. In these conversations we also talked about the further development prospects of his company. In these discussions, we came to the conclusion that both companies could benefit from working together and decided to integrate Trickstuff into the DT Swiss group of companies,“ said Frank Böckmann about the takeover of the company.
Trickstuff will continue to operate as an independent company with its own brand identity, marketing and product strategy in the market for high-performance bicycle disc brakes, and will primarily benefit from DT Swiss‘ know-how in the areas of business model development, IT infrastructure integration, supply chain management, production optimization and industrialization within the scope of joint cooperation and integration projects. The jointly defined goal for Trickstuff is to continue to grow through the development of highly innovative new products and to drive further professionalization and industrialization in the company’s production, marketing and after-sales service divisions through joint project-based work. The joint cooperation in cross-company project teams already began in December of this year with the first projects in the area of ERP system integration.
„For many years, I have had a collegial and friendly exchange with Frank Böckmann, during which we have also repeatedly exchanged ideas about the development and growth opportunities for Trickstuff,“ Klaus Liedler noted. „Together we came to the conclusion that both companies could benefit from a close cooperation. My team and I are very happy to become part of the DT Swiss Group, which opens up great growth opportunities for us as an agile and innovative company. In the future, we want to continue working on sophisticated innovations with our great team and bring high-quality, durable and easy-to-maintain braking systems to the market. Personally, I am very much looking forward to intensifying the exchange with a whole range of new colleagues in the group. “ said Klaus Liedler.
