GCA Altium advises zahnarztzentrum.ch on the sale of a majority stake to Migros subsidiary Medbase

GCA Altium has advised the founders of zahnarztzentrum.ch, the largest provider of dental services in Switzerland, on the sale of a majority stake to Migros subsidiary Medbase, a leading Swiss healthcare services provider. With this acquisition, Medbase is expanding its portfolio of basic medical care to include dentistry.

zahnarztzentrum .ch opened its first clinic in Zurich in 2003. Today, the company operates across 34 locations in Switzerland and it has treated over half a million patients since its foundation. zahnarztzentrum .ch employs 700 people of which over 300 are dentists and specialists in orthodontics, implants and dental hygiene. The size and structure of the company enable the clinics to be fully digitalised, with state-of-the-art equipment that allows gentle and safe treatment methods. The range of services offered includes all dental services from dental hygiene to oral surgery and orthodontics.

Medbase AG is a leading Swiss healthcare services provider and has been part of the Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund group of companies since 2010. Medbase offers a comprehensive range of medical, therapeutic and pharmaceutical products with general practitioners, pharmacists, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals working hand in hand. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities and closing is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2020.com
