Khalid Afras appointed Head of Leveraged Finance for the DACH region

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Khalid Afras as Head of Leveraged Finance for the DACH region.

Khalid has been an invaluable member of the team at Clearwater for the past eight years, playing a key role in building our leveraged finance expertise and advising both private equity investors as well as corporates on all aspects of financing.

His track record spans a wide range of transactions, with a particular focus on acquisition financings. Khalid also co-leads our coverage of private equity clients, working closely with our M&A colleagues. His notable transaction experience includes, amongst others, advising Waterland on the refinancing of Carton Group, the acquisition of Nayak Group by Chequers, the acquisition of almapharm by Armira, and the refinancing of MDAX-listed Evotec SE.

Khalid succeeds Dr. Heinrich Kerstien, who built up and led our leveraged finance team in the DACH region and has decided to leave Clearwater to pursue a new career path. We would like to thank Heinrich for his strong commitment and dedication, we wish him all the best for the future.
