Advent and HarbourVest Partners to Acquire FNZ Bank from FNZ
Advent, together with a consortium that includes HarbourVest Partners, has agreed to acquire FNZ Bank, a leading independent wealth management banking and infrastructure provider in Germany, from FNZ. FNZ Bank serves more than 2.1 million end customers, supports over 50,000 financial advisers, and holds approximately €155 billion in assets under custody through its banking, custody, transaction execution, and regulatory services platform. The new owners plan to invest in the bank’s technology, operational capabilities, and product offering to support its next phase of long-term growth. Following the transaction, FNZ and FNZ Bank will maintain their long-standing commercial partnership, with FNZ continuing to provide wealth management platform technology to the German market. Advent highlighted its extensive experience in regulated financial institutions, including investments in Fisher Investments, Aareal Bank, tbi bank, and Addiko Bank. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2027, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
