Carlsquare successfully advised Keran Group in buying a majority stake in YS Energies Marine Developpement
Keran Group, a leading French engineering group providing urban and landscape planning, infrastructure engineering, environment and digital technology services, acquired a majority stake in YS Energies Marine Developpement (“YS EMD”), an innovative blue economy company, dedicated to the development of local ocean renewable energy projects.
Based in Nantes, YS EMD accompanies coastal territories on the energy resilience path, through local self-production facilities based on wave and tidal technologies. Leveraging its know-how and unique expertise, YS EMD assists local actors through every stage of the development of their sustainable energy projects, including financial, regulatory, legal, and administrative aspects.
Currently, YS EMD runs its projects on the Atlantic coast, in the Caribbean, in French Polynesia and in Europe, and will be extending future projects to other oceans, in particular the coasts of Africa.
Keran Group is very active in the field of renewable energy and has strong synergies with YS EMD, notably through its subsidiary Créocéan, specialized in the marine environment, coastal planning, and oceanography.
Keran Group will assist YS EMD’s growth – especially its international anchorage – alongside its founders.
“More than ever, we need to find local solutions to face environmental and energy challenges. YS EMD proposes this type of solutions by associating local actors.” Denis Pourlier-Cucherat, CEO of Keran. “It is a philosophy that fits well with the culture of Keran Group, which aims to support territories by co-constructing projects with stakeholders.”
Carlsquare acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Keran Group.
