Comitis Capital announces the acquisition of Threema
Comitis Capital (“Comitis”) today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Threema Holding AG (“Threema”), a leading provider of highly secure digital communication solutions, from Afinum and the Company’s founders.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Threema’s platform addresses the accelerating demand for data sovereignty, cybersecurity and compliant digital communication. By offering a scalable, flexible architecture for both cloud and on-premise deployments, Threema serves a diverse client base ranging from SMEs to global corporations – in addition to its strong base of loyal, privacy- and securityconscious consumers.
Threema distinguishes itself through a privacy-by-design philosophy, utilizing zeroknowledge architecture and open-source software, Swiss sovereignty and bestin-class technology combining proprietary encryption algorithms verified by thought-leading cybersecurity experts and communities worldwide.

The transaction was executed by Felix Jauch (Principal) and Philipp Siebeneick (Investment Associate) and is expected to close in January 2026.
