Metis Group (Gimv) acquires Assmy & Böttger Electronic GmbH in Germany, marking its first step towards building an international footprint Smart Industries
Metis Group, a portfolio company of Gimv, has entered into an agreement with OWG to acquire A+B Electronic, a full-service EMS provider. This strategic transaction marks Metis Group’s first expansion outside the Netherlands. By joining Metis, A+B Electronic further strengthens the group’s position in the electronics market. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including merger control clearance by the relevant competition authorities.
A+B Electronic is a leading German system supplier providing comprehensive EMS services focused on complex and quality-critical applications. The company serves around 150 customers in industry verticals that are similar and complementary to those of Metis Group.
The current managing directors, Bernadette Kirchrath and Sven Kapmeyer, will continue to lead the company and its approximately 130 employees. Metis Group’s extensive engineering capabilities, technology, service portfolio, and volume production capacity will enable A+B Electronic to accelerate growth and deliver even greater added value to its customers. In addition, A+B Electronic’s broad production and assembly capabilities complement Metis very well. Located in Großenkneten, near Bremen, A+B Electronic strengthens Metis Group’s position in Germany with a fully resourced and robust operation that can support customers across Europe’s largest market.
