Tresmares provides financing to sequrio to support its buy-and-build strategy in the DACH digital security & compliance services space

Tresmares Capital has backed sequrio, the Frankfurt-headquartered digital security & compliance services platform, providing a committed financing package to support the next stage of its buy-and-build strategy.
sequrio is bringing together specialist providers of data protection, information security and cybersecurity services across the DACH region, with the businesses acquired to date including aigner business solutions, Althammer&Kill, Nextwork, Datatree, msecure and scope & focus. sequrio is building a leading, tech-enabled platform in its market, combining acquisitions with organic growth through extensive cross-selling, serving a broad base of private and public sector clients.
sequrio is backed by Afinum, a leading private equity investor in the German-speaking Mittelstand based in Munich, in what represents the third platform investment of its latest fund. The partnership is aimed at consolidating a large and fragmented market, where demand is underpinned by a steadily tightening regulatory landscape — amongst others including GDPR, NIS-2, DORA, TISAX, the EU AI Act as well as ISO & other compliance standards — and by the growing tendency of organisations to outsource compliance-critical functions to integrated, end-to-end service providers.
Tresmares has supported the platform by providing a senior financing package as well as a committed acquisition facility and a revolving credit facility, which will enable sequrio to pursue further acquisitions and continue building a leading, tech-enabled platform, broadening its services, sector reach and geographic footprint across the DACH region. McDermott Will & Schulte acted as legal advisors to Tresmares.
Rene Hartert, Country Head Germany at Tresmares Capital, said: „We look forward to the partnership with Afinum and sequrio in establishing as a leading digital security & compliance player in DACH. This transaction reflects Tresmares’ strategy of supporting buy & builds, by partnering with leading mid-market financial sponsors in establishing high growth companies in highly fragmented markets.”
Advisors: Houlihan Lokey (Debt Advisory), Lark (Borrower’s legal counsel) and McDermott Will & Schulte (Lender’s legal counsel).
