Clearwater advises BACHL on the sale of BACHL Steinwolle to Kingspan

Clearwater advised BACHL Unternehmensgruppe (BACHL), one of the leading German players in the construction and building materials industry, on the sale of its stone wool factory, BACHL Steinwolle, to Irish building materials group Kingspan.

Founded in 1926 in Deching, in the Bavarian Forest, the BACHL group with over 3,000 employees is one of the most important players in the construction and building materials industry today. In addition to the German production sites, the company operates plants and trading branches in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, and Croatia. Following the initial production of bricks, a steady upward trend led to an expanded range of products and services for the construction and modernisation sectors. Besides the large business lines of insulation and plastics processing as well as the areas of building materials, construction elements, and precast concrete production, the construction sector consists of the divisions of building construction and civil engineering, road construction, future-proof houses, as well as turnkey industrial and commercial construction that remain a mainstay of the BACHL group.

The takeover by Kingspan will allow BACHL to focus more strongly on its core business in the future. The Irish building materials group intends to use the takeover to further expand its capacities and complete its range of insulation materials on the market. With the acquisition by Kingspan, the employees at the Ronneburg site of BACHL Steinwolle will also become part of the Irish building materials group.
