Clearwater International advises MVV on the sale of its subsidiary MVV Energie CZ to Cube Infrastructure Managers
Clearwater International has advised MVV Energie AG (MVV), one of Germany’s leading energy companies, on the sale of its Czech subsidiary MVV Energie CZ, to Cube Infrastructure Managers (Cube), an independent management company focusing on investments across Europe.
Headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, MVV focuses on providing reliable, economical, and environmentally friendly energy, to industrial, commercial, and private household customers. With around 6,500 employees, MVV covers all stages of the energy value chain, from energy generation, trading, and distribution, to operating distribution grids, sales activities, and energy-related service businesses. With annual sales of around €4.1bn, MVV is a pioneer in energy transition, having committed to being climate neutral by 2040, making them one of the first energy companies in Germany to achieve this.
With 500 employees, MVV Energie CZ provides services to customers in 15 cities and is among the leading producers and distributors of heat in the Czech Republic. The company is also engaged in high-performance electricity generation, waste-to-energy production, energy consulting, water management, and the provision of electronic communications services. In 2021, MVV Energie CZ sold around 690 GWh of heat and 170 GWh of power in the Czech Republic, generating revenues of €78m.
