INVENSITY advises Securepoint on the acquisition of SecuLution with a Technical and Product Due Diligence

  • Securepoint acquires SecuLution GmbH, a leading provider of application whitelisting solutions
  • INVENSITY supported the transaction with a comprehensive Technical & Product Due Diligence
  • Securepoint, backed by Maxburg Capital Partners, strengthens its cybersecurity portfolio and expands its endpoint security capabilities

The technology and management consultancy INVENSITY GmbH supported Securepoint GmbH, backed by Maxburg Capital Partners, in its acquisition of SecuLution GmbH by conducting Technical & Product Due Diligence. This strategic transaction enables Securepoint, one of Germany’s leading IT security solution providers, to expand its portfolio in the field of endpoint security and deliver additional value to customers in the upper mid-market, healthcare, and public sector.

About the transaction

SecuLution GmbH, based in Werl, has specialized in application whitelisting for over 20 years – a preventive security approach based on the “default deny” principle, allowing only explicitly authorized programs to run on endpoints. The solution automates the typically high administrative effort through a cloud-based platform, while all development, hosting, and operations are carried out exclusively in Germany. This technology is particularly suited for organizations with stringent security and compliance requirements, such as healthcare institutions, public administration, and critical infrastructure – markets that Securepoint also targets.

By integrating SecuLution’s whitelisting technology, Securepoint complements its existing network and endpoint security software portfolio.

INVENSITY’s advisory scope

INVENSITY’s Technical & Product Due Diligence focused on evaluating SecuLution’s proprietary whitelisting technology. The advisory scope included:

  • Architecture & Scalability: Assessment of the software architecture, maintainability, and ability to scale with Securepoint’s growth strategy.
  • Operational & Compliance Review: Analysis of development processes, hosting setup, and adherence to German data protection and security standards.
  • Product & Competitive Environment: Analysis of product features, USP and competitive positioning.

“We congratulate Securepoint and Maxburg on this strategic acquisition. The transaction highlights the increasing relevance of preventive endpoint security in today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape. SecuLution’s technology represents a valuable addition to the cybersecurity ecosystem, and we see significant potential for innovation and growth in the combined setup,” says Matthias Welge, Head of Investor Support at INVENSITY.

The technical advisory at INVENSITY was conducted by:

  • Matthias Welge (Head of Investor Support)
  • Marc Großerüschkamp (Principal Consultant, Project Lead)
  • Simon Hofmann (Principal Consultant, Software)
  • Vittorio Rosario (Consultant, Product)
  • Lena Janßen (Consultant, Product)
